Hey friends,
Over the last few months, I’ve been quietly working on something new; part personal experiment, part creative tech project, part rebellion against a culture that rewards only one side of the mind.
It’s called BrainSync.
At its simplest, it’s a binaural beats and white noise app with guided meditations. But that’s just the surface. The deeper aim of the app is to help us rebalance our brains — especially for those of us who feel over-analytical, screen-addled, stuck in loops of logic and disconnected from intuition, creativity, or calm.
I’ve had a long fascination with neuroscience, especially the research around hemispheric differences (McGilchrist, Blakeslee, Sperry etc). Not the tired "left-brain good at maths" clichés, but the real, nuanced stuff.
The story that emerges is this: our right brain, our holistic, contextual, imaginative brain, is being written off as some kind of inaccessible ‘subsconscious’, and as a result being chronically underused in modern life.
Even Stephen King in On Writing talks about his ‘little men downstairs’, as if there’s nothing to be done but wait for inspiration. But I don’t believe that’s the case. The right brain is… well, right there next to the left one. We just don’t know, or have forgotten, how to access it. And it’s costing us. Not just in mental health, but in perception, creativity, and joy.
BrainSync is my response.
It combines:
scripted guided experiences (written by me) that unfold in alignment with each brain mode
targeted binaural beat sessions to support either left, right, or balanced hemispheric activation
optional background layers (white noise, low ambient hums etc.) for deeper focus or creative flow
The BrainSync program consists of three sessions to spark creative drift, sharpen analytical focus, and weave both together into a kind of integrated awareness I’m calling BrainSync Integration (imaginative, huh!?).
I built it for myself — but I’m sharing it now in open beta for anyone curious enough to test it.
✅ Want to try it?
I’m offering free early access to a beta version. All I ask is that you play around with it (with headphones) and let me know what works (or doesn’t). It’s only available on iOS, but it does come with a handy-dandy Apple Watch app too.

Whether you’re into mindfulness, neurohacking, writing, coding, painting, healing, or just trying to feel a bit more whole, I’d love your feedback.
Let’s reclaim our brain!
– Andy
P.S. I’ve been kinda quiet on here of late, mostly due to work and family stuff, but I’ve quite a bit to share, so hope to be a bit more active.
